‘Market Demands’
A slave labour free market (and)
disposable income kids are their target
inadequate lives without brand name labels
worth less than the cost of food on the tables
Stealing the freedom of the sun on their faces
desperately toiling away
in the sweatshops of far away, desolate places
‘cause the market demands and we obey
Don’t worry about what the history books might say
they’re written by politicians and corporate puppet masters any way
and if you really want to know the truth
the best way to make a change in this world is simply starting by changing you, so,
stand up, be strong
don’t back down and
never, sit by
complacent with apathy as so many others die
without, ever knowing,
safety and peace that we have in the ‘first world’
as we, live through
CRT’s and LCD screens
Life in the malls and consumer havens
led to believe that we gain by the ‘savings’
A smiling face of yellow and black
and these are the crimes we can never take back
billboards and signage up to the skies, (they)
block out the view from the hell in which we reside
(have to) keep the economy grinding along
and they’ll make you a traitor to think that it’s wrong
(More to come, of course)
